| Short biography | Dr. Georgine Lamvu received her undergraduate degree and Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Duke University. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she also earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology and completed a fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopy and Pelvic Pain in 2003. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Lamvu is a gynecologic surgeon and pelvic pain specialist who maintains an active academic and educational role as a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Central Florida. She serves as Director of the VA National Coordinating Center for the Advanced Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery and also directs the Certificate Program in Clinical Research, an Orlando VA–UCF partnership. Her research and scholarly work span a wide range of study designs, including randomized clinical trials focused on vulvodynia, chronic pelvic pain, postoperative pain, and surgical outcomes in women living with chronic pain conditions. Dr. Lamvu is a Past President and Past Chair of the Board of the International Pelvic Pain Society (IPPS). Dr. Lamvu provides clinical care exclusively to Veteran patients within the Orlando VA Healthcare System.
