Short biography Dr. Carrillo received his medical degree from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá-Colombia (South America). He completed his internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Rochester General Hospital. After this he completed a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (FMIGS) through the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) and the Society of Reproductive Surgeons (SRS) at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, this Fellowship had a focus on conventional laparoscopic, robotic assisted and hysteroscopic procedures, complemented with an emphasis in assessing and managing patients with chronic pelvic pain conditions. He worked 3 years for the University of Rochester as Assistant Professor and was part of their Center for Chronic Pelvic Pain and Vulvar Disorders, taking care of a large population of chronic pelvic pain patients and serving as a surgical consultant. He then completed a Dean’s Teaching Fellowship at the University of Rochester. Currently he works at the Orlando VA Healthcare System as a chronic pelvic pain specialist and minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon and is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology for the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. Currently is completing a Master's of Health Professions Education, through the University of Maastricht. He serves as the Treasurer for the International Pelvic Pain Society and is the Scientific Program Director for the 2022 IPPS Annual Scientific Meeting.
