Short biography
Dr. Reet Poudel is a Psychiatrist and Nepal’s first Sexologist with a MD and Fellowship degree. He completed MBBS from Kathmandu University and MD Psychiatry from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He completed his one year Fellowship in Psychosexual Medicine from India. He was Associate Professor in Psychiatry at Nepalgunj Medical College, Kohalpur. He shifted his practice to Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal on 2022.
Along with diagnosing and successfully treating various mental disorders; he specializes in dealing with various sexual health issues and problems including sexual disorders/dysfunctions, gender identity/dysphoria, and providing counseling and therapy. He has published numerous scientific journal articles and book chapters in the field of mental and sexual health.
He is credited for starting the first clinic in Nepal specifically dedicated to sexual health and human sexuality named “Sexual Wellness Clinic”. This clinic was established at Nepalgunj Medical College, Kohalpur and operated every Friday in fixed-day basis and provided dedicated medical support for various human sexuality related issues.
